All in perspective...

So I was having a very rough day this particular Saturday...went to my friend Lorie's...I was in jammies, no makeup no hair done...she came out & said can you come in and do hair? I said WHAT?!? I'm crabby & not good company...she said it's for Danicka...Josephine's sister...now Josephine is not Josephine, she is Lindsey (& yes, there is a story there!)...Lindsey & her sister lost their mom to breast cancer two years ago come January...their dad Terry (above w/ Anthony) was at a loss on hair for Homecoming...so I did two heads of hair that afternoon & Terry held the baby...ringlets...oh the girls were pretty...sure changed my attitude!

Anthony is seriously left handed.

Seriously. Decidedly. A South Paw.

A Kiss or a Bite?

My friend Lorie had this yappy dog toy in a give away bin..I am not sure if L'il Bit thought he should kiss it or bite it ;o) Funny.

Soccer Anyone?

Veteran's Day. Hood River. Katie's last game.

What sayeth the Doc?

The doctor had my MRI/xRay results...bone fractures and arthritis in my hip, bulging disks in my back...we'll try to get the hip pain under control by steroid shots first...here's to hoping!

Update on Megg/Reilly/Meggers whatever you call me ;o)

I guess at this point, I should come clean and let those of you looking at my blog know I am back in medical mystery land. In late Aug/early Sept I was told my "auto immune disease" had decided to attack my throat, and that once it took hold, it was doubtful it would let go. OOOFFF! that is the sound of air escaping as I was punched in the gut. So...I decided to get another opinion. I have found a great doctor in Hood River (hey being the windsurfing capital has it's benefits! All kinds of professionals want to live here now!). She said I'd been a medical guinea pig for too long and got me to a specialist...at any rate...Lupus & MS are back in the running for what may be wrong....this week alone I've had another MRI (on my back this time...) & xRays of a hip that is so painful most days I can barely walk...so, as I take this journey, whatever the journey is, please pray I will do so with grace....that I will know when to say when & when to fight through....love you all muchly....
Megg/Reilly/Meggers but rarely if ever Meggie :o)

Seventh Grader @ Cascade Locks School

On the seventh day of seventh grade....DesiRae Noelle "Lulu" Roush....did I mention she is taking an AP class? (Advanced Reasoning....) I could not be more proud of the beautiful (inside & out!) young woman she is!

Sweet Picutres...

Seems Like Anthony always has a hat on these days, and who can blame him....brrrr. it's cold...this lead to his newest nick name from his Meemaw..."Tony Hats"

Tommy & Andy pushing L'il Bit in the Graham Cracker Express (a laundry basket w/ wheels...but you know Tom he's all about trains...)

Anthony preparing for the camera flash...

Scenic Hood River Valley Pics

Eric took these while he was out scouting...in the top picture you can see...er...a deer or maybe it's an elk, what do I know?!?!

Miss Lulu of the Volleyball....

Why they wear spanky shorts and then long socks is beyond me....

Opa and L'il Bit

I love these pictures. L'il BIt has a hold of Eric's beard in the top one. Right now, Eric is the most favored...pretty cool.

A beautiful Day at Crown Point....

Seriously. Does it get any better than this? Also, isn't it cool how the word "seriously" is so versatile? (That was a shout out to all you Grey's Anatomy fans)

Labor-free Day ;o)

Yeah yeah so I'm a little tardy posting....he's on Opa's lap (Eric chose his name, we'll see if Anthony agrees...it's German I think...)

Sanjaya's not the only one w/ a faux hawk

PS Check out that pumpkin (the orange one in the background, not my little pumpkin....

Oregon State Fair...

Baby, Baby whose got the baby? A good bet it's Amy. I bet her arms are still sore....

Anthony and Grandpa pickin' up chicks...

'nuff said....

Curling at the State Fair

Lulu & Katie trying their hand at curling...Oregon State Fair...

Becasue I'm the MeeMaw...

Because I'm the Meemaw, I gave L'il Bit a lollipop...oh the joy...He sits in his high chair just like his Autie Lu did...one foot up on the tray...

Earnin' her keep....

I could be wrong but I think that Lulu is the newest/youngest kid in the youth group ("Three Nails Later") Reportedly she worked her tail off...she sure was tired Saturday night. She also won a CD for getting a certain # of sponsors...

Workin' at the CAR WASH....

The youth group @ HRA/G had a car wash this past Saturday...the monies raised are for a Back to School bash where they will have a BBQ for kids and two local Christian bands...anyway, Eric was in charge of pictures...and lo and behold 75% of the pictures are of this "My favorite year" Chevy Camaro. Funny.

Aren't they 'bout the best looking kids?

So Vacation pics follow...do you recognize the lyrics? Extra points if you do (hint go-go from the bottom of the vacation pics up) We had a very blessed, relaxed time this year. Eric's brother Mike and wife Josie joined us along with our two nephews Connor and Kaleb. We hope they come again next year. Stevi felt it was too soon to ask for 10 days off from work, so we had the baby. He got 3 new teeth at camp (I'm sure the other campers LOVED it ;o)) We are so blessed to have a family (on both sides!) who love the Lord and each other and are patient with all the varying personalities...I wouldn't have changed a thing about the week...oh except the part where dad and DenaRae got the stomach flu (poor DR in a tent), oh and when dad fell down the hill fishing...oh AND WHEN ERIC FED THE BABY PART OF HIS BANANA SPLIT & A PICKLE AND THEN SLEPT THROUGH THE HOUR I WAS UP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT...oops was I in caps (hee hee.) Seriously. They are all keepers....wanna join us next year?

V-A-C-A-T-I-O-N

Great Grammy and Baba with L'il Bit...they are "on the bench" while we are on the bumper boats. Age really does bring wisdom, this was the best seat there! I hate getting wet w/ squirt guns...I LOVE Tommy's giggle as he is getting the others wet though, so it's a fair trade....

Tomorrow's a day of mine that you won't be in ...

Ok, that was Eric's pride and joy float he bought for vacation this year...it has room for 6 - 8 adults, cup holders, a ladder, anchor etc. Tommy was scared the first day to go out and get on it...that's Eric giving him a piggy back ride...that's all she wrote he was out and back several times after that!

I wish I'd Stayed

Uncle Eric helped Tommy "authenticate" a true "fish" story (yes, trick photography was involved.)

Now that I'm away

Back here (at home ) with nothin' to do

Lulu and Andrew on the expensive lunch train we took...in all fairness the train hadn't left yet...

Can't seem to get my mind off of you...

Andrew is (unsuccessfully) trying to hide his popcorn from L'il BIt. That's my grandbaby...loves his 'corn as much as his Meemaw does!

Vacation meant to be spent alone...

Oh my he hated the life jacket and the lake in his floaty thing...but boy howdy did he ever love the creek (oh & the rocks, sand and dirt!)

Vacation HAD to get away....

The lake from a high vantage point while Eric & Lu were on their horse ride...

Vacation's all I ever wanted....

I can't be certain, but I am sure we are breaking several child labor laws with our "new" driver!

Sunset at the Roush House

Eric took this picture "a little late" on Saturday. This is in our front yard looking NW...

A blanket with a view...

The view West from our spot on our blanket in Cascade Locks...the firework display there was AWESOME. They are so close, right over your head! A great find...and in our "backyard"!

Baby Feet

Another Lu special...I just love this picture...don't know why...

Patriotic Baby

Here's L'il Bit w/ face paint and a flag...not to mention his camo hat ;o) He loved the parade and the fireworks...oh and eating the flag...

Saving spots and waiting for the runners...

One of the things we do while we wait for the parade is cheer for the runners who come from Odell. This is the Kollas Run. Odell is 8 miles in the valley...I forgot chairs so here are Tommy (in the chair) and Andy (stretched out on the ground) saving places for the parade.

Yea it's the 4th of July

Ahh the 4th...one of my absolute favorite days of the year...from the parade in Hood River to the fireworks at night...here's Amy White, Lulu, Tommy & Andy @ the parade site...
