All local gals who had fun exploring their own business district!

Anthony's head...
Lulu always takes interesting pictures...I am amazed that inside this head is everything Anthony needs...the miracle and blessing of LIFE hits home again...I am truly blessed (I need a new word I guess, but it is what I feel!) Circumstances have a way of fading when you realize the MASTER knit him together and placed him in our care...this is a great use of the word AWE-some!

Auntie Lu
And baby makes three....
He's here! Welcome Baby Anthony Saul!
Welcome baby Anthony Saul! He arrived Sunday morning 26 November @ 7:06 a.m. He was 18 inches long and weighed 6 pounds 6 ounces. Like a complete novice "Meemaw" I forgot my camera! Thank goodness for friends. A nasty cold & winter weather have kept me from seeing him as much as I'd like, but he's oh so sweet. I think he's gonna have red hair....

DesiLu & her daddy
As promised, Lulu the volley ball girl
Isn't she pretty? She even got to play a few minutes... they did not win the game & I was surprised by how the "rules" of volley ball had changed...did you know you don't have to have the ball to score a point? Did you know games go to 25 now? Each girl is limited to 4 (good) serves each time she takes a turn. I have to admit it makes the game move faster.

So you notice no pictures of the back yard....
The back yard is huge, but in serious need of TLC! Once we get a large load off to the dump it will be great...there is a nice cement patio where we will put our ping pong table...Eric already mended (albeit temporarily) a fence...it's very quiet & peaceful...we sat out on our swing and watched meteor showers a few weeks back. It was neat to hear families down the the street playing hide and seek & laughing... see their flashlight lights light up their yards...
Our side yard (West side front)
Eric's done such a great job getting our yard greened up! It was crunchy & brown when we moved in...a couple of the neighbor's stopped by to say how glad they are we are there! In this little side yard I've found old fashioned roses, clymatis, hydrangea, peonies (I think... they were done blooming so I am not really sure!) Wouldn't this be cute w/ a little Bistro set? All in good time...
Our new home....

Life in Cascade Locks
Well, we are getting more & more settled in our house in Cascde Locks! Lulu is going to school in Cascade Locks (it's a K-12!) & she is on the Volley Ball team! There are only 7 kids in all of 6th grade...she LOVES it. Our mailing address is:
PO Box 296 & our physical address is 420 Sunset. Stop by and see us some time!

Auntie Lu, Meemaw & Mama
Here we are, all 3 of us. It was a wonderful day. The gathering was so neat as friends and family came to show their love. Our friend Linda gave a challenging, appropriate devotional about change...about God's consistency...I know I say it a lot, but we are blessed. We may not see how situations today are a blessing...but we know He is sovereign & He misses nothing. He cares for us, amazing isn't it?
"Mothering" her sister...
Too cool for school...
I just love the fact that if you see this image fully, Lulu has ketchup on her face! This was taken at Summer Slam @ EVCC in August. We had an evening "all church" Vacation Bible School this year. We gathered for dinner (simple fare!) then classes for every age, recreation & then dessert for families! I love the fact that we try new things at our church...

V-A-C-A-T-I-O-N Wallowa Lake, OR (07-16 July 2006)
This is what it is all about, sun, water, healthy kids...this makes the rest worth it all! We are so blessed! Mom, Dad, DenaRae (& Boys), Eric & I (& Lu!), Tim, Wendy (& gang!) + Bud & Naomi Orcutt...oh & a guy from work who also couldn't believe he & I could make reservations 7 hours away, on the same dates & end up across the street from each other out of all the sites in a huge state park! What are the chances?!?! (Apparently pretty great, like 100%)

The Roush's big move...
Offically here is the rumored announcment...as of August first we will be residents of the metropolis of Cascade Locks (that's in Oregon, East of Multnomah Falls, West of Hood River...think bridge of the gods)! We look forward to friends from both ends of the Gorge (& yes Vancouver counts!) coming to enjoy our HUGE yard...we are very excited to move to a place where we can entertain like we used to? My, my, my Look who is 19!
Stevani Christine Ballweber entered my life @ 10:10 a.m on 26 June 1987 @ 9 pounds 10 ounces & 22 inches long... and I've never been the same. I am truly blessed. Stevi literally looked around the delivery room before she was cleaned up, walked at 10 months and spoke complete sentences before she was a year old. At 13 months it was hot in Hood River. She came in the house, took off her diaper, threw it away & took me into the bathroom where she promptly pointed at the toilet. I never would've thought of potty training that early, but Stevi was ready to conquer the world...not a diaper or accident from that point on! Stevi welcomes my grandbaby (whom I call Riley while he is in utero) in late November. Again, I am blessed!

Megg & Lu after church on Father's Day
The First Cut is the deepest...
Lulu getting the first cut to donate her hair...It all began when Lulu & her friend Katie White decided to grow their hair out for Locks of Love, to be cut Summer 2005...well (pun intended) Lulu didn't make the cut...her hair was not long enough (10 inches needed). After she "missed" the cut off @ Relay for Life 2005, her hair started growing like crazy! Add to that several gals of all ages at our church took up the challenge and began growing their hair too! Two little girls effort (colored by cancer in both families) sure brought great rewards for children with cancer.
Children with cancer cannot be mentioned without thinking of Kevin who has been gone for nearly 14 years...although Lulu and his sisters Katie & Amy will never know him here on earth, their love for him is humbling...the actions they take in his "honor" revealing. We are truly blessed.
